Artist photographer Duane S. Smith's aim is not to record something via digital photography, but to reveal the "inner essence" of everyday subjects that we take for granted and at face value. Whether it be bugs, motorcycles, birds or the more abstract, Duane's personalized relational photography skills ultimately present an amazing array of photographic imagery as Fine Art. As a local resident, most of "Smitty's" visual photo design creations are born as a result of exploring within a five mile radius of his Spring Lake Township home. Still recovering from a near fatal accident "Smitty", a self-acknowledged work-a-holic, was literally forced to "stop and smell the flowers". His recuperation will be a life long process. Finding himself confined to a wheelchair for months on end he realized that the passion he held for photography as a youth was still embedded in him. It was also something he could pursue without his physical limitations being a deterent to his creativity. During that healing time his skills and abilities as a photographic artisan emerged. Now the founder of STIRLING IMPRESSIONS, "Smitty" also offers his expertise in a variety of ways. Being a 30 year veteran of the International Film and Media industry enables him to consult with and mentor businesses by using his experience at design, layout, marketing and logistics with his digital photography as the centerpiece. That service is, of course, in addition to STIRLING IMPRESSIONS other Photography-as-Art options such as wedding, graduation, and family and/or pet portraits. All other occasions qualify as well.
